(1) A building surveyor (a) is to refuse an application for an occupancy permit in respect of a building if the building surveyor is not satisfied of any of the matters specified in section 220(1) ; and(b) may refuse to grant an application for an occupancy permit if he or she considers the refusal to be reasonable in the circumstances.(2) A building surveyor, by notice in writing within the prescribed period, is to notify an applicant of (a) the refusal to grant the application; and(b) the reasons for that refusal; and(c) the right of appeal under this Act in respect of the refusal.
