CHIROPRACTORS AND OSTEOPATHS REGISTRATION ACT 1997 (NO. 48 OF 1997) - SECT 6
Membership of Board
(1) The Board consists of (a) 3 registered practitioners, at
least one of whom is to be a chiropractor and at least one of whom is to be an
osteopath, nominated by the Minister from a list of names submitted by such
bodies representing the professional interests of practitioners as the
Minister determines; and
(b) 2 persons, who are not practitioners, nominated
by the Minister to represent the interests of the consumers of chiropractic
and osteopathic services.
(2) The members are appointed by the Governor.
(3) The Governor may appoint a member as chairperson.
(4) The Minister may request the bodies referred to in
subsection (1)(a) to provide the Minister with a list of names for the
purposes of that subsection.
(5) If the bodies that have been requested by the Minister to provide a
list of names for the purposes of subsection (1)(a) fail to provide that
list within such period of not less than 2 months as is specified in the
request, the Minister may nominate persons for the purposes of that subsection
without further reference to those bodies.
(6) Schedule 1 has effect with respect to membership of the Board.
(7) Schedule 2 has effect with respect to meetings of the Board.
