Regulation 6 of the Principal Regulations is amended as follows:

(a) by omitting from subregulation (1)(c) "450 cm ² for each fowl" and substituting "550 cm ² for each fowl, including the floor area under the baffle" ;

(b) by inserting the following subregulation after subregulation (1) :

(1A)  Subregulation (1)(c) does not apply to a cage commissioned before 1 January 2001 if the floor area of the cage is less than 550 cm ² for each domestic fowl, including the floor area under the baffle.
