CLIMATE CHANGE (GREENHOUSE GAS EMISSIONS) REGULATIONS 2012 (S.R. 2012, NO. 99) - REG 5

Measuring reduction in greenhouse gas emissions

A reduction in the amount of Tasmania's greenhouse gas emissions for a year commencing on or after 1 January 1991 is to be calculated using the following formula:

where –
A is the baseline figure;
B is the sum of the carbon dioxide equivalent emission figures for Tasmania for the financial year ending on 30 June in that year for each of the following sectors as set out in the most recently published Greenhouse Gas Inventory:
(a) energy;
(b) industrial processes;
(c) agriculture;
(d) waste;
(e) land use, land use change and forestry;
(f) any other sector set out in the Greenhouse Gas Inventory.
