DANGEROUS SUBSTANCES (SAFE HANDLING) REGULATIONS 2009 (S.R. 2009, NO. 42) - REG 63

Only shot-firers may prime or fire explosives
A person must not do shot-firing of any category in Tasmania unless –
(a) the person holds a shot-firing permit that is endorsed for that category of shot-firing; or
(b) the person holds an interstate shot-firing authority that is recognised under regulation 73 and the recognition is valid for that category of shot-firing; or
(c) the person –
(i) is undergoing training in that category of shot-firing in an accredited shot-firing course; and
(ii) has approval under regulation 88 to undergo such training; and
(iii) the shot-firing is a requirement of that course.
Penalty:  Fine not exceeding 50 penalty units.
