Schedule 2 to the Principal Regulations is amended as follows:

(a) by omitting from subclause (5) of clause 2 "the owner" and substituting "the registered operator" ;

(b) by omitting subclause (6) of clause 2 and substituting the following subclause:

(6)  In this clause –

motor vehicle has the same meaning as in the Vehicle and Traffic Act 1999 ;

registered means registered under the Vehicle and Traffic Act 1999 ;

registered operator has the same meaning as in the Vehicle and Traffic Act 1999 .

Displayed and numbered in accordance with the Rules Publication Act 1953 .

These regulations amend the Environment Protection (Atmospheric Pollution) Regulations 1974 consequential on the enactment of the Vehicle and Traffic Act 1999 .
