After regulation 8 of the Principal Regulations , the following regulation is inserted:

9.     Licence application fee

The fee payable on application under section 18 of the Act for a licence to carry on operations in the electricity supply industry is 330 fee units.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the regulation)

These regulations amend the Electricity Supply Industry Regulations 2008 to –

(a) prescribe the fee payable for a licence under Division 1 of Part 3 of the Electricity Supply Industry Act 1995 ; and

(b) provide that a licence is not required for –

(i) the retailing of electricity to another retailer licensed under that Act; or

(ii) the retailing of electricity generated by certain specified power stations of historic significance; or

(iii) the generation of electricity by all generators with a capacity of 5 megawatts or less.
