For the purposes of section 38(1)(i) of the Act, an enrolled nurse may administer a substance listed in Schedule 2 , 3 , 4 or 8 to the Poisons List if the enrolled nurse –

(a) acts –

(i) in accordance with the written authority of a medical practitioner, dentist or authorised nurse practitioner; and

(ii) under the supervision of a medical practitioner, dentist, authorised nurse practitioner or registered nurse; and

(b) holds any qualifications that the Executive Officer of the Nursing Board of Tasmania determines are appropriate for the administration of that substance.
