(1) A driver who parks in a road-related area (except in a median strip parking area) must position the drivers vehicle to face (a) in the direction of travel of vehicles in the marked lane or line of traffic next to the part of the road-related area where the driver parks; or(b) if there is no traffic next to that part of the road-related area in the direction in which vehicles could lawfully travel in the road-related area; or(c) if the road-related area is an area that divides a road either (i) in the direction of travel of vehicles in the marked lane or line of traffic to the left of the driver; or(ii) if there is no traffic to the left of the driver in the direction in which vehicles could lawfully travel on that part of the road.(2) Subrule (1) does not apply if (a) another law of this jurisdiction permits the driver to park in another manner in the road-related area; or(b) signs or road markings indicate that angle parking is required in the road-related area.
