ROAD RULES 2009 (S.R. 2009, NO. 142) - REG 375

Temporary default speed-limits for Kingborough and Tasman municipalities
(1)  Until midnight on the prescribed day for Kingborough, the default speed-limit under rule 25(3)(a) and (b) for any driver within the municipal area of Kingborough is –
(a) 90 kilometres per hour on a sealed length of road; and
(b) 80 kilometres per hour on an unsealed length of road.
(2)  Until midnight on the prescribed day for Tasman, the default speed-limit under rule 25(3)(a) and (b) for any driver within the municipal area of Tasman is –
(a) 90 kilometres per hour on a sealed length of road; and
(b) 80 kilometres per hour on an unsealed length of road.
(3)  In this rule –
prescribed day for Kingborough means such day as the Minister, by public notice, nominates in respect of the municipal area of Kingborough;
prescribed day for Tasman means such day as the Minister, by public notice, nominates in respect of the municipal area of Tasman;
public notice means a notice, in the Gazette , that is not a statutory rule within the meaning of the Rules Publication Act 1953 ;
sealed length of road means a length of road that is paved with bitumen, concrete or another smooth, bonded, weather-resistant material;
unsealed length of road includes a length of road with a compacted or loose gravel surface.
