For the purposes of section 41(1)(b) of the Act, it is a prescribed requirement that a safety management system must –

(a) provide for all of those matters listed in Schedule 1 that are relevant to the railway operations for which the rail transport operator is accredited or seeks to be accredited; and

(b) provide the level of detail in respect of each of those matters that is appropriate, having regard to –

(i) the scope, nature and risks to safety of the operations referred to in paragraph (a) ; and

(ii) the operator's duties under section 11 of the Act.
