VEHICLE AND TRAFFIC (VEHICLE OPERATIONS) REGULATIONS 2001 (S.R. 2001, NO. 168) - REG 7

Maximum tyre loads
(1)  A person must not use, or cause or permit the use of, a vehicle if the load on a tyre exceeds the maximum load capacity determined for the tyre by its manufacturer.
Penalty:  In the case of –
(a) a first offence – 20 penalty units; and
(b) a second or subsequent offence – 40 penalty units.
(2)  The load capacity for a tyre is to be determined at a cold inflation pressure that does not exceed –
(a) 825 kilopascals in the case of a radial tyre; or
(b) 700 kilopascals in any other case.
