Regulation 108 of the Principal Regulations is amended as follows:

(a) by omitting " Emergency Services Act 1976 " from paragraph (h) of the definition of exempt vehicle in subregulation (1) and substituting " Emergency Management Act 2006 " ;

(b) by inserting the following paragraph after paragraph (h) in the definition of exempt vehicle in subregulation (1) :

(i) a transport enforcement vehicle;

(c) by omitting from subregulation (4)(c) "lights; and" and substituting "lights." ;

(d) by omitting paragraph (d) from subregulation (4) .

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the regulation)

These regulations amend the Vehicle and Traffic (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 2001 so as to –

(a) provide that a transport enforcement vehicle may be fitted with one or more flashing lights of any colour and one or more reflectors of any colour; and

(b) update a legislative reference consequent on the enactment of the Emergency Management Act 2006 .
