VICTIMS OF CRIME ASSISTANCE AMENDMENT REGULATIONS 2015 (S.R. 2015, NO. 72) - REG 5

Regulation 5 amended (Application for award)
Regulation 5 of the Principal Regulations is amended by inserting after subregulation (1) the following subregulation:
(1A)  If an application for an award is made by a person for funeral expenses in respect of the death of a primary victim, the application is also to include details of the funeral expenses the person actually and reasonably incurred, or is reasonably likely to incur, in relation to that death.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the regulation)

These regulations amend the Victims of Crime Assistance Regulations 2010  –
(a) by prescribing $10 000 as the maximum total amount that may be awarded under section 4(1A) of the Victims of Crime Assistance Act 1976 ; and
(b) so that an application for an award for funeral expenses in respect of the death of a primary victim includes details of the funeral expenses actually and reasonably incurred, or reasonably likely to be incurred, by a person in relation to that death.
