For the purpose of section 11(2)(d) of the Act, a person who is studying for his or her National Veterinary Examination may engage in the practice of veterinary surgery or render a veterinary service without being registered as a veterinary surgeon if that practice is engaged in or that service is performed –

(a) in a private veterinary practice; and

(b) under the direct supervision and instruction of a registered veterinary surgeon.
