(1) This regulation applies if a safety sign is required to control an identified risk in relation to using, handling, generating or storing hazardous chemicals at a workplace.(2) A person conducting a business or undertaking at the workplace must display a safety sign at the workplace to (a) warn of a particular hazard associated with the hazardous chemicals; or(b) state the responsibilities of a particular person in relation to the hazardous chemicals.Penalty: In the case of (a) an individual, a fine not exceeding $6 000; or(b) a body corporate, a fine not exceeding $30 000.(3) The person must ensure that the safety sign is (a) located next to the hazard; and(b) clearly visible to a person approaching the hazard.(4) In this regulation, safety sign does not include a placard.
