A Bill for an Act to adopt a Canon of the General Synod

‘Protection of the Environment Canon 2007’

Adoption Act 2009

BE IT ENACTED by the Bishop, the Clergy and the Laity of the Anglican Church of Australia within the Diocese of Ballarat in Victoria duly met in Synod according to law as follows:

Short title

1. This Act may be cited as the Protection of the Environment Adoption Act 2009.
   

Commencement

2. This Act comes into operation on the day appointed by the Bishop by notice in writing given to the Registrar of the Diocese, being a day after the Bishop in Council has approved procedure and process to assist the Diocese and its agencies to implement the Protection of the Environment Canon 2007 of the General Synod.
   

Adoption of the Protection of the Environment Canon 2007

3. The Synod of the Diocese adopts the Protection of the Environment Canon 2007 of General Synod, a copy of which is set out in the Schedule.
