Local Government (Brimbank City
Council) Amendment Bill 2012
A Bill for an Act to amend the Local Government (Brimbank City
Council) Act 2009 and for other purposes.
The Parliament of Victoria enacts:
1 Purpose
The purpose of this Act is to amend the Local
Government (Brimbank City Council) Act
2009 to provide for a general election of the
5 Brimbank City Council to be held on the fourth
Saturday in March 2015.
2 Commencement
This Act comes into operation on the day after the
day on which this Act receives the Royal Assent.

3 General election
See: For section 10(1) of the Local Government
Act No.
65/2009 (Brimbank City Council) Act 2009 substitute--
and
amending "(1) Despite section 31(1) of the Local

44/2011.

(a) is not to be held on the fourth Saturday
in October 2012; and
10 (b) is to be held under that section on the
fourth Saturday in March 2015.".
4 Repeal of amending Act
This Act is repealed on the first anniversary of
the day on which it receives the Royal Assent.
15 Note
The repeal of this Act does not affect the continuing operation of
the amendments made by it (see section 15(1) of the
Interpretation of Legislation Act 1984).
