The Parliament of Victoria enacts:
1 Purpose
The purpose of this Act is to amend the Local
Government (Brimbank City Council) Act
2009 to provide that the next general election of
Councillors for the Brimbank City Council is to
be held on the fourth Saturday in October 2016.
2 Commencement
This Act comes into operation on the day after the
day on which it receives the Royal Assent.

3 Consequential amendment to section 6
See: At the end of section 6 of the Local Government
Act No.
65/2009 (Brimbank City Council) Act 2009 insert--
and
amending "(2) Despite anything to the contrary in any Order
Act Nos
44/2011 and
in Council or the terms and conditions of
41/2012. appointment of an administrator, the term of

4 Repeal of spent provision--section 8
Section 8 of the Local Government (Brimbank
City Council) Act 2009 is repealed.
5 Amendment of section 10--general election
For section 10(1) of the Local Government
(Brimbank City Council) Act 2009 substitute--
"(1) A general election of Councillors for the
Brimbank City Council is to be held under
section 31(1) of the Local Government Act
1989 on the fourth Saturday in October
2016.".
6 Repeal of amending Act
This Act is repealed on the first anniversary of its
commencement.
Note
The repeal of this Act does not affect the continuing operation of
the amendments made by it (see section 15(1) of the
Interpretation of Legislation Act 1984).
