COMMERCIAL ARBITRATION ACT 2011 - SECT 24A

Representation

    (1)     The parties may appear or act in person, or may be represented by another person of their choice, in any oral hearings under section 24.

S. 24A(2) substituted by No. 17/2014 s. 160(Sch. 2 item 16.1).

    (2)     A person who is not an Australian lawyer does not commit an offence under or contravene the provisions of the Legal Profession Uniform Law (Victoria) or any Act merely by representing a party in arbitral proceedings in this State.

Note

There is no equivalent to this section in the Model Law.
