CRIMES (MENTAL IMPAIRMENT AND UNFITNESS TO BE TRIED) ACT 1997 - SECT 71

Proceedings to be closed to public

    (1)     Unless subsection (2) applies, proceedings before the Panel are closed to members of the public.

    (2)     The Panel may direct that particular proceedings or any part of them are to be open to the public if the Panel is satisfied that it would be in the best interests of the applicant for leave or in the public interest.

    (3)     A direction under subsection (2) may be given subject to any conditions the Panel considers appropriate.
