CHILDREN, YOUTH AND FAMILIES ACT 2005 - SECT 282

Powers of Secretary under family preservation order

S. 282(1) amended by No. 61/2014 s. 23(2).

    (1)     If the Court makes a family preservation order in respect of a child, the parent must permit the Secretary to visit the child at his or her place of residence and to carry out the duties of the Secretary under the order.

    (2)     The Secretary may, by notice in the prescribed form, give to—

S. 282(2)(a) amended by No. 61/2014 s. 23(2).

        (a)     the child in respect of whom a family preservation order is made; or

        (b)     a parent of the child

any direction that the Secretary considers to be in the best interests of the child and that is both reasonable and lawful.
