Victorian Current Acts Victorian Current Acts(1) Despite anything to the contrary in this Division, if the Secretary is or becomes aware that an allegation is the subject of a police investigation, the Secretary must defer giving any notice or further notice or taking any step or further step or making any decision or further decision under this Division in respect of the allegation until the completion of that investigation.
(2) On completion of the police investigation, the Secretary may take into account any information he or she receives as to the results of the investigation to reconsider or to make any decision under this Division.
(3) If the Secretary has given notice to a person under section 84, and the Secretary subsequently defers the matter, the Secretary must notify the person in writing of the deferral and of the ending of the deferral.
