DAIRY ACT 2000 - SECT 1

Purpose

The purpose of this Act is to—

        (a)     remove the price and supply controls on milk;

        (b)     establish Dairy Food Safety Victoria;

        (c)     provide a licensing system for the dairy industry;

        (d)     enable Codes of Practice and food safety programs to be implemented in relation to dairy food;

        (e)     repeal the Dairy Industry Act 1992 .
