(a) re-enact with amendments the law relating to the University of Ballarat (now named Federation University Australia) by rationalising obsolete and disparate legislation; and

Note
Amendments to this Act by the University of Ballarat Amendment (Federation University Australia) Act 2013 changed the name of the University from "University of Ballarat" to "Federation University Australia".
(b) provide for a new Act reflecting best practice and a consistent approach to governance and reporting for universities in Victoria.
