FAMILY VIOLENCE PROTECTION ACT 2008 - SECT 176B

Concurrent applications may be heard together

    (1)     Any number of applications for family violence intervention orders may be heard together with any number of applications under the Personal Safety Intervention Orders Act 2010 for personal safety intervention orders if the court considers that—

        (a)     the applications are sufficiently related; and

        (b)     it is appropriate for the applications to be heard together.

    (1A)     Any number of applications for the variation, revocation or extension of recognised DVOs may be heard together with any number of applications under the Personal Safety Intervention Orders Act 2010 for personal safety intervention orders if the court considers that—

        (a)     the applications are sufficiently related; and

        (b)     it is appropriate for the applications to be heard together.

    (2)     The decision under this section to hear applications together may be made—

        (a)     on the application of the applicants or the respondents; or

        (b)     on the court's own initiative if the court considers it in the interests of justice to do so.
