(1) As soon as practicable after an authorised psychiatrist grants a leave of absence to a person, the authorised psychiatrist must ensure that all reasonable steps are taken—
(a) to inform the person that the leave of absence has been granted; and
(b) to explain the purpose, duration and conditions of the leave of absence to the person.
(2) As soon as practicable after an authorised psychiatrist varies a leave of absence granted to a person, the authorised psychiatrist must ensure that all reasonable steps are taken—
(a) to inform the person that the leave of absence has been varied; and
(b) to explain the purpose and effect of the variation to the person.
