(1) The duration of a petroleum exploration permit is worked out using the table—

for the period of 5 years beginning on— (a) the day on which the permit is granted; or (b) if a later day is specified in the permit as the day on which the permit is to come into force—that later day. |

a boundary-change petroleum exploration permit granted under section 101A(4) |
for the period of 5 years beginning on the day on which the permit is granted. |

4 |
a boundary-change petroleum exploration permit granted under section 101A(5) |
for the period of 12 months beginning on the day on which the permit is granted. |
(2) Subsection (1) has effect subject to this Chapter.
