Victorian Current Acts Victorian Current Acts(1) If an inspector reasonably believes that it is necessary to do so because of the existence, on any premises that the inspector believes have been, are being, or are to be, used in connection with a pipeline operation, of an immediate serious risk to health, safety or the environment from the pipeline operation, the inspector may at any time enter the premises and exercise any power conferred by section 160(1).
(2) An inspector may not continue to exercise any powers under this section if he or she fails to produce, on request, his or her identity card for inspection by the occupier of the premises.
(3) If an inspector exercises a power of entry under this section without the owner or occupier being present, the inspector must, on leaving the premises, leave a notice setting out—
(a) the time of entry; and
(b) the purpose of entry; and
(c) a description of all things done while on the premises; and
(d) the time of departure; and
(e) the procedure for contacting the Department for further details of the entry.
