PRIVACY AND DATA PROTECTION ACT 2014 - SECT 111

Reports to the Minister and other reports

S. 111(1) amended by No. 20/2017 s. 106(19).

    (1)     At the request of the Minister, the Information Commissioner must report to the Minister on any matter relating to the Information Commissioner's information privacy, protective data security, law enforcement data security or crime statistics data security functions.

    (2)     The Minister may cause a copy of a report referred to in subsection (1) to be laid before each House of the Parliament.

    (3)     The Information Commissioner may publish, in the public interest, reports and recommendations—

        (a)     relating to any act or practice that the Information Commissioner considers to be an interference with the privacy of an individual; or

S. 111(3)(b) amended by No. 20/2017 s. 106(19)(b).

        (b)     generally relating to the Information Commissioner's functions under this Act.

    (4)     The Information Commissioner may publish a report under subsection (3) whether or not the matters to be dealt with in the report have been the subject of a report to the Minister.
