PRIVATE SECURITY ACT 2004 - SECT 101

Cancellation of registration or authority to carry on activity on registration holder's request

    (1)     The holder of a private security registration may request that the Chief Commissioner—

        (a)     cancel the registration; or

        (b)     cancel an authority under the registration—

              (i)     to provide the services of others to carry on a class B security activity; or

              (ii)     to carry on a class B security activity.

    (2)     If a request is made under subsection (1)(a), the Chief Commissioner may cancel the registration.

    (3)     The holder of a registration cancelled under subsection (2) must surrender the registration document to the Chief Commissioner within 7 days after the day on which the cancellation takes effect.

Penalty:     10 penalty units.

    (4)     If a request is made under subsection (1)(b), the Chief Commissioner may cancel the authority.

    (5)     If the Chief Commissioner cancels an authority under a registration under subsection (4), he or she must issue to the holder of the registration a private security registration document in accordance with the regulations.

    (6)     The holder of a registration in respect of which an authority has been cancelled under subsection (4) must surrender the registration document to the Chief Commissioner within 7 days after the day on which the cancellation takes effect.

Penalty:     10 penalty units.
