Upon any application under this Act concerning a person alleged to be of unsound mind the Court may, if it thinks fit, direct that an Associate Judge of the Supreme Court shall personally examine such person and shall take such evidence and call for such information as to such Associate Judge seems necessary in order to enable him to report to the Court whether such person is of unsound mind and the Court may postpone making any order until such report is made.
