Victorian Current Acts Victorian Current Acts(1) This section applies if a police officer has reasonable grounds to believe that a person being detained under this Part is unable, because of inadequate knowledge of the English language or a disability, to communicate with reasonable fluency in that language.
(2) A police officer must, before any questioning commences section 13AZC, arrange for the presence of a competent interpreter and defer the questioning until the interpreter is present.
