Victorian Current Acts Victorian Current Acts(1) This section applies if a police officer has reasonable grounds to believe that a person being detained under a preventative detention order is unable, because of inadequate knowledge of the English language or a disability, to communicate with reasonable fluency in that language.
(2) A police officer must, before any questioning under section 13ZNB commences, arrange for the presence of a competent interpreter and defer the questioning until the interpreter is present.
