(1) The dog obedience trainer assessment program must adequately assess a person in the following skills—
(a) use of appropriate dog training equipment;
(b) practical obedience training of dogs.
(2) The dog obedience trainer assessment program must include—
(a) a written or oral examination on the theory of dog training; and
(b) a practical examination of the person's dog training skills.
(3) The dog obedience trainer assessment program must include a probationary or learning period of at least 100 hours in which the trainee is under the supervision of a qualified dog obedience trainer.
(4) The approved dog obedience training
organisation must give to the person who has satisfactorily completed the dog
obedience trainer assessment program a certificate stating that the person has
passed the program.
