Victorian Consolidated Regulations Victorian Consolidated Regulations(1) An employer, a self-employed person or a person who manages or controls a workplace must not perform asbestos removal work, or arrange for asbestos removal work to be performed, in respect of the workplace except in accordance with Division 7.
Penalty: 100 penalty units for a natural person;
500 penalty units for a body corporate.
(2) Subregulation (1) does not apply if the asbestos removal work is for—
(a) the purpose of sampling and identification; or
(b) the removal of asbestos encountered in the course of non-asbestos mining or the extraction of stone.
