If high risk crystalline silica work involves a quarrying or tunnelling process, an employer or a self-employed person, before the work commences, must—
(a) collect samples of materials to be used in the quarrying or tunnelling process; and
(b) arrange for analysis of those samples by a suitably competent person to identify the proportion of crystalline silica contained in each sample.
