OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY REGULATIONS 2017 - REG 63

Confined space entry permit

    (1)     An employer must ensure that an employee does not enter a confined space unless the employer has issued a confined space entry permit in accordance with this regulation permitting the employee to enter the confined space.

Note

Act compliance—section 21 (see regulation 7).

    (2)     A confined space entry permit—

        (a)     must only apply to one confined space; and

        (b)     may permit one or more employees to enter that confined space.

    (3)     A confined space entry permit must list—

        (a)     the confined space to which the permit applies; and

        (b)     the measures to control risks associated with the confined space; and

        (c)     the name of any employee permitted to enter the confined space; and

        (d)     if an employer assigns any person to perform any function in relation to regulation 65, the name of that person; and

        (e)     the period that the permit is in operation.
