(1) An ADS permit is suspended, effective immediately, if the Secretary is advised by the ADS permit holder, the vehicle supervisor named in the ADS permit or a police officer of—
(a) the theft or carjacking of an automated vehicle used under that ADS permit; or
(b) any tampering with, unauthorised access to, variation to, impairment of, or unauthorised computer function or system override in relation to, an automated driving system during the ADS trial conducted under that ADS permit.

(2) If an ADS permit is suspended under subregulation (1)(a), the ADS trial remains suspended until the Secretary is satisfied that the automated vehicle has been recovered, assessed and made safe.

(3) If an ADS permit is suspended under subregulation (1)(b), the ADS trial remains suspended until the Secretary is satisfied that the tampering, unauthorised access, variation to, impairment of, or unauthorised computer function or system override in relation to, the automated driving system has been resolved, assessed and made safe.
