ACCIDENT COMPENSATION AMENDMENT ACT 2010 (NO. 9 OF 2010) - SECT 169

For section 241 of the Accident Compensation Act 1985 substitute —

        "     241     Offences relating to a person exercising powers under section 239 or 240

    (1)     A person must not obstruct or hinder a person exercising powers under section 239 or 240.

Penalty:     In the case of a natural person, 60 penalty units;

In the case of a body corporate, 300 penalty units.

    (2)     A person must not, without reasonable excuse, refuse or fail to comply with a requirement made by a person exercising powers under section 239 or 240.

Penalty:     In the case of a natural person, 60 penalty units;

In the case of a body corporate, 300 penalty units.

    (3)     A person must not assault, intimidate or threaten, or attempt to assault, intimidate or threaten, a person exercising powers under section 239 or 240.

Penalty:     In the case of a natural person, 240 penalty units or 2 years imprisonment or both;

In the case of a body corporate, 1200 penalty units.".
