AUSTRALIAN CONSUMER LAW AND FAIR TRADING ACT 2012 (NO. 21 OF 2012) - SECT 144

Production of identification

    (1)     An inspector must produce his or her identification for inspection—

        (a)     before exercising a power under this Part; and

        (b)     at any time during the exercise of a power under this Part, if asked to do so.

Penalty:     10 penalty units.

    (2)     Subsection (1) does not apply to—

        (a)     a requirement made by post; or

        (b)     the exercise of a power under section 152.
