Victorian Numbered Acts Victorian Numbered Acts(1) If an authorised officer seizes a thing, or takes a sample of, or from, a thing at any premises under this Act, the authorised officer must give a receipt in the prescribed form for the thing or sample to the person in charge of the thing or the premises from which it was taken.
(2) If for any reason it is not practicable for an authorised officer to comply with subsection (1), the authorised officer—
(a) may leave the receipt at the premises in a conspicuous position and in a reasonably secure way; or
(b) may send the receipt to the occupier of the premises from which the thing was seized or the sample was taken.
