Victorian Numbered Acts Victorian Numbered Acts(1) Despite the repeal of the 1986 Act, if, immediately before 1 July 2014, a person gives informed consent in accordance with Division 1AA of Part 5 of the 1986 Act to having electroconvulsive therapy (within the meaning of that Act) performed on him or her, sections 72 and 73 of the 1986 Act continue to apply to that person in relation to the course of electroconvulsive therapy for which the person gave informed consent.
(2) Despite the repeal of the 1986 Act, if, immediately before 1 July 2014, an authorised psychiatrist authorises a course of electroconvulsive therapy (within the meaning of that Act) for a patient in accordance with section 73(3) of that Act, sections 72 and 73 of that Act continue to apply to the patient in relation to the course of electroconvulsive therapy that the authorised psychiatrist authorised.
