(1) In performing the functions of a security officer under this Act, a security officer may arrest without warrant an offender if the security officer believes on reasonable grounds that the offender has committed an indictable offence.
(2) A security officer who has arrested an offender under subsection (1)—
(a) must deliver the offender into the custody of a police officer as soon as practicable after the arrest to be dealt with according to law; and
(b) may detain the offender in a suitable place until the offender is delivered into the custody of a police officer under paragraph (a).
