ROAD SAFETY (VEHICLES) (REGISTRATION RENEWAL) REGULATIONS 2005 (SR NO 145 OF 2005) - REG 8

Amendments to Schedule 4—concessional registration fees for eligible beneficiaries or spouses or domestic partners

    (1)     In Schedule 4 to the Road Safety (Vehicles) Regulations 1999—

        (a)     in clause (1), for "The" substitute "Subject to clause (4), the";

        (b)     in clause (3), for "If" substitute "Subject to clause (4), if";

        (c)     item 11 of the Table is revoked .

    (2)     After clause (3) of Schedule 4 to the Road Safety (Vehicles) Regulations 1999 insert

    "(4)     If a motor vehicle is not to be used except for social, domestic or pleasure purposes and—

        (a)     the motor vehicle is registered or to be registered in the name of a person who, at the commencement of the period of registration, is an eligible beneficiary or his or her spouse or domestic partner; and

        (b)     the provisions of this clause are not, at the commencement of the period of registration, being applied to—

              (i)         any other motor vehicle registered in the name of the applicant; or

              (ii)         if the applicant is not an eligible pensioner, any motor vehicle registered in the name of the applicant or the applicant's spouse or domestic partner—

the fee to be paid for registration or renewal of registration of the vehicle is 50% of the fee that would otherwise be payable under column 2 of the Table.".
