TRANSPORT (PASSENGER VEHICLES) REGULATIONS 2005 (SR NO 66 OF 2005) - REG 37

Picking up and setting down passengers

    (1)     When picking up or setting down passengers, the driver of a vehicle must stop the vehicle as close as practicable to the side of the highway where the picking up or setting down is to take place.

Penalty:     10 penalty units.

    (2)     The driver of a vehicle who is at or near a place where there are a large number of vehicles must not, without reasonable excuse—

        (a)     interfere with the orderly taking up or setting down of passengers; or

        (b)     interfere with the orderly distribution and movement of vehicles.

Penalty:     10 penalty units.
