Temporary archaeological areas

16. Temporary archaeological areas



(1) If the Governor in Council is satisfied that it is expedient to reserve a
particular area of land for the preservation or protection of a relic and that
it is necessary in the meantime to prevent or control the entry of persons
into that area, he may by Order in Council published in the Government Gazette
declare such area as a temporary archaeological area.





(2) A temporary archaeological area shall cease to be such upon the expiration
of six months after its declaration as such unless in the meantime it has been
declared or has otherwise become an archaeological area.
