Existing registrations

103. Existing registrations



(1) A person who was registered as a legally qualified medical practitioner
under the old Act immediately before the commencement of Part 2 of this Act,
and to whom sub-sections (2) to (4) do not apply, is deemed to have general
registration under this Act.

(2) A person who held provisional registration under section 19A of the
old Act immediately before the commencement of Part 2 of this Act, is deemed
to have provisional registration under this Act and that registration is
deemed to be subject to the same conditions, limitations and restrictions as
those which applied to that registration under the old Act.

(3) A person who held temporary registration under section 19(3) or 27 of the
old Act immediately before the commencement of Part 2 of this Act, is deemed
to have specific registration under this Act and that registration is deemed
to be subject to the same conditions, limitations and restrictions as those
which applied to that registration under the old Act.

(4) A person who held conditional registration under section 27A of the
old Act immediately before the commencement of this Act, is deemed to have
specific registration under this Act, and that registration is deemed to be
subject to the same conditions, limitations and restrictions as those which
applied to that registration under the old Act.

(5) If a person is deemed to be registered under this section, and the
registration of that person under the old Act, immediately before the
commencement of this Act, was suspended, the registration of that person under
this Act is deemed to be suspended for the remainder of the period for which
that person's registration would have been suspended under the old Act.

(6) If a person is deemed to be registered under this section, and the
registration of that person under the old Act, immediately before the
commencement of this Act, was subject to conditions, limitations or
restrictions, the registration of that person under this Act is deemed to be
subject to the same conditions, limitations or restrictions as those to which
the registration under the old Act was subject.

(7) The registration of a person who is deemed to be registered under this
section expires (unless sooner cancelled) on 31 December next following the
date of commencement of Part 2.
