Section 14 amended 2 156--1 page i Western Australia LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL Constitution Amendment Bill 2002 A Bill for An Act to amend the Constitution Acts Amendment Act 1899. The Parliament of Western Australia enacts as follows: 1. Short title This Act may be cited as the Constitution Amendment Act 2002. page 1 Constitution Amendment Bill 2002 s. 2 2. Commencement This Act comes into operation on a day fixed by proclamation. 3. The Act amended The amendments in this Act are to the Constitution Acts 5 Amendment Act 1899*. [* Reprinted as at 8 June 2001. For subsequent amendments see 2001 Index to Legislation of Western Australia, Table 1, p. 72 and Acts Nos. 24 and 25 of 2001 and Nos. 5, 20 and 24 of 2002.] 10 4. Section 14 amended Section 14 is amended by deleting ", other than the President, and when the votes are equal the President shall have the casting vote:" and inserting instead -- " 15 . The President shall in all cases be entitled to a vote. When the votes are equal the question shall pass in the negative. ". Note: The heading to section 14 will be altered by deleting ", casting vote".
