A Bill for
An Act to amend the Conservation and Land Management Act 1984.
The Parliament of Western Australia enacts as follows:

1 1. Short title
2 This is the Conservation and Land Management Amendment
3 Act 2024.
4 2. Commencement
5 This Act comes into operation as follows --
6 (a) sections 1 and 2 -- on the day on which this Act
7 receives the Royal Assent (assent day);
8 (b) the rest of the Act -- on the day after assent day.
9 3. Act amended
10 This Act amends the Conservation and Land Management
11 Act 1984.
12 4. Section 55 amended
13 (1) Delete section 55(1a)(c).
14 (2) After section 55(1a) insert:

16 (1B) The purpose of timber production cannot be prescribed
17 under subsection (1a)(e).
18 (1C) In subsection (1B) --
19 timber production does not include the removal of
20 salvaged forest products arising from, or in anticipation
21 of, prescribed activities or purposes.
